My love affair with photography began with a Polaroid camera I received as a child. I’ve rarely left home without a camera of some kind, since.
I’ve had the unique privilege of covering professional sporting events, including the Brooklyn Nets and the NBA, the Harlem Globetrotters, the “Fierce Five” Olympian gymnasts, the New York Liberty, championship boxing, NCAA Basketball, Professional Bull Riding (PBR) & Gotham Girls Roller Derby.
Concerts include Justin Bieber, Marc Anthony, Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Dave Matthews Band, Boys II Men, New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, Andrea Bocelli and Busta Rhymes.
In March & April 2019, five of my portraits were included in the exhibition "Metanoia: Transformation Through AIDS Archives & Activism". Located at the LGBT Community Center in NYC, the exhibit spotlighted incarcerated Black women & AIDS. I had the honor of photographing & interviewing 5 HIV/AIDS activists, focusing on how the disease transformed & impacted their lives. The exhibit is currently online:
Also in March 2019, my work was exhibited in "Art Peace", about mental health issues in the Black community. I was honored to be a featured speaker at the Opening Night panel discussion.
In June 2019, the aforementioned "Metanoia" portraits were commissioned for the "Stonewall 50" exhibit at the Clifford Chance Law Offices in both NYC & Washington D.C.
In 2020, my photo was included in the exhibit "ICP Concerned: Global Images for Global Crisis" at the International Center of Photography.
In 2021, my photo was published in the book "ICP Concerned: Global Images for Global Crisis", based on the exhibit.
My photos have also appeared at the Soho Gallery for Digital Art, USA Today, the Providence Journal, the PhotoManhattan school, NBC’s "Today Show" website, and the United Nations' website. I also had the pleasure of being featured in Instagram’s blog, about NYC's "street photographers", and the honor of participating in a panel discussion about photojournalism, at the Soho Gallery for Digital Art.
