On September 13, 2014, Black female photographers gathered in cities around the country and engaged in a photo walk. I joined the New York City contingent hosted by Zoraida Lopez at Highline Park. It was wonderful meeting women of my race and culture who shared the same passion. We walked, took pictures, shared our experiences and love for photography. We took photos of nature, of the buildings surrounding us and of course...each other. Made a few new friends along the way, including Nicole Mondestin, Wanda Lotus and Akinfe Fatou. Ms. Lopez did a fantastic job as organizer. Looking forward to more experiences with these ladies in the future!
